Reading about different investment funds and how they have previously performed can be helpful, but sometimes it’s hard to interpret what the percentages and numbers actually mean. Seeing real life examples can better help you understand what increases and decreases mean in real dollars. I have been investing since 2016, and as index funds and investing are a hobby for me, I have money in multiple passive portfolios. These include:
- Two TD e-Series portfolios with different risk levels
- An ETF portfolio within Questrade
- An aggressive Wealthsimple portfolio
- A small amount in a Tangerine Investment Fund
I also track my other wealth building assets, such as:
- High interest savings
- Home and property equity
- Retirement pension
