Who am I?
Everyone’s financial situation needs to fit the person that they are, and what works for one person doesn’t always work for someone else. A bit about me? I’m a 31 year old male, who lives on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. I live with my partner and our dumb cat (I love him but that doesn’t mean he isn’t dumb), and I don’t have any children. I have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science but I work in a public sector job that doesn’t really have anything to do with Computer Science.
Why I started this blog?
In early 2014 I started doing some additional consulting work on-top of my day-to-day job, and I was able to start saving a little bit of money. By the time 2016 rolled around, I had a chuck of money saved up, but it was it all stored away in a High Interest TFSA – I didn’t know what to do with it. I started reading some forums, blogs and books, and started to understand that there was a whole world of wealth management that I had only scratched the surface of, and getting started wasn’t easy. I had lots of questions, but realized only some of the answers were out there, so I thought I would share what I was figuring out. It wasn’t long before I recognized that it was a topic that I had a passion in.
What I’m not!
I don’t pretend to have all of the answers, or be an expert in financial management. I don’t have an education background in money management, and I don’t work as a financial consultant. I’m a regular person who realized he could make his money start working for him, and I’m figuring it out as I go, and sharing what I find as I find it.
